CL7 Equine Facility
CL7 has gone through a lot of changes over the past few years. In 2020 my parents moved close, and we acquired a second farm. Thankfully it was only 4 miles away, and over the years it has grown into the place I now call home.
Unfortunately there were health issues that come with age, and our lesson program was stopped. In 2025 we suffered the loss of Bobby Champion. He put the "Champ" in Champ's Lucky 7. Taking care of two small farms is a lot of work, so the decision was made to downsize to just the farm on Douglas Rd.
Due to the loss of pasture, we had to rehome a lot of minis. It was a tough decision because not only do we love these animals, we had spent a long time acquiring ones for our breeding program with good ancestry that would offer a variety of colors.
In our struggle to decide who to sell and who to keep we realized that a friend we call family was starting to expand their farm to breed miniature horses and donkeys. It was like a dream come true that our herd could move as the family unit they have become to a farm that is owned and operated by people we love and trust to care for them as their own... which they are.
So it is with great pride to say that CL7 has a sister farm in North Carolina. Our CL7 website and Facebook page will be updated over the next couple weeks to include a link to our sister farm so you can contact them directly regarding animals residing at their farm.
We are hoping to find a trainer so we can start our lesson program back up. We love seeing the big smiles as little ones gain their confidence on the back of a horse. As parents and grandparents we understand that it can be a little scary putting your tiny tot on a big horse, so we always welcome you to meet our horses and interact with them, and when we offer lessons again you are welcome to observe.
