"Just like asphalt, the road to success may be rough, but it’s worth the journey."
The phrase above describes CL7’s journey. My road to CL7’s success has been rough. There have been moves, health issues, and even death, but every time things looked bleak, there was a good friend to lean on. This time it was Joe & Rosanna Lyons of Blue Angel’s Minis.
There’s another phrase that says, “If grass can grow through asphalt, love can find you anywhere.”
Asphalt is tough and hard. It was created to give you a smooth and comfortable ride on your journey, but even the hardest of things can crack and break, and in those little cracks, life can emerge and grass will grow. Just like grass grows through those faults in the asphalt, we can find new hope through heartache.
That explains her registered name. Her barn name is Tessa, and keeping with tradition, she has ass in her name, it's just backwards this time… sort of like announcing "it's a boy" only to find out later that was the umbilical cord. No judging, we’ve all done it!
Tessa spelled backwards is Asset - and with a plan to breed for NLP donkeys, Tessa is certainly an asset to our farms and will be retained for future breeding with Luther Bocephass at the Chesapeake location.
CL7 found hope and a new beginning in Blue Angel’s Minis, and we found that new beginning through the heartache of Bobby Champion’s death. Their farm was our new hope when we hit a pothole in life, and the morning of the Blue Angel’s Minis grand opening celebration, Tessa was born. If ever there was a sign, this was it.
